Amnesty Int’l. Condemns “Iranian Virginity Test”

The Jerusalem Post reports today that Iran is engaged in bizzare human rights violations by subjecting imprisoned Atena Farghadani, a 29-year-old painter, to a pregnancy and a “virginity test” after the 29 year old painter was convicted

“by a military tribunal for a series of alleged crimes against the state, including “gathering and colluding against national security,” “insulting members of parliament through paintings,” and “spreading propaganda against the system.”

She was sentenced to nearly 13 years in prison, pending appeal.”

Now, more than ever we need a UN Regional Middle Eastern Human Rights Court to be established in East Jerusalem so that regimes such as Iran can be held accountable for their Human Rights violations.
