Recently, the Wall Street Journal reported that Ellison attended a private dinner in New York in 2013 in which both Farrakhan and Iranian President Hassan Rohani were present.
Ellison defends his attendance at the dinner by claiming to have been present to advocate for the Iranian Nuclear Deal (or the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action) and to advocate for the release of former U.S. Marine Amir Hekmati, who was illegally detained and tortured by the Iranian regime,” Ellison said.
So, in defense of his attendance at the dinner; as a Muslim, was Ellison practicing taqiyya?
What is taqiyya?
Taqiyya is found in Quran 16:106 and also in 3:28.
“Taqqiya,” or the allowing of Muslims to be untruthful, is just a part of the larger Quranic principle called necessity.
Taqiyya is a tool to cover for yourself in times of necessity. There are three things that justify it, protection of another Muslim’s life, protection of one’s self and protection of the Islamic movement. And as a matter of fact, it is not only that you are allowed to do that, it is actually praised, because it is looked at as an act of jihad when you are doing this.
al-Taqiyya:
deception; the islamic word for concealing or disguising one’s beliefs, convictions, ideas, feelings, opinions, and/or strategies.
If Ellison really wants to dis-avow anti-Semitism he should reject the tenets of Islam and follow the Covenant of Noah by observing the Seven Universal Laws of Noah!
